Inspired by Darkest Dungeons I wanted to add a quick a system which was easy to track the Stress of adventuring. This system serves to be a constant drain on the PC’s mental strength and their coinage.
Resolve
Characters begin with 10 Resolve. When they face trauma, fear, horror, or emotional strain they take Stress damage.
To regain resolve engage in a coping mechanism e.g. drinking
Stressed (Condition)
When at 0 Resolve, you gain the Stressed condition, which means:
You roll a d10 and suffer a random Affliction
While Stressed, you may still be exposed to triggers. Each new Stress event while Stressed requires a DC 18 Wisdom check or suffer a Breakdown.
To remove the Stressed Condition you must restore your Resolve to 10 by doing one of the following Downtime Activities: (Adjust Price to Gold in a GP Standard system)
